D.C. United Gets A Shirt Sponsor!
D.C. United announced today that Real Salt Lake will sponsor their jersey for all games played in the state of Utah.
“They totally own us in Utah,” explained United’s management “so we thought we might as well get something for it.”
United lost again in Rice(a roni)-Eccles Stadium 4 – 0 to an energetic and opportunistic Real Salt Lake side. RSL never dominated play, but capitalized on three very poor mistakes from United and a brilliant goal from Side Show Beckerman.
The Black-and-Red still seek a full-time shirt sponsor, but are in talks with the Columbus Crew to sponsor their shirt for all games played in Ohio.
“Given our play on the road, it seems logical that we continue to get some extra income from our losses,” United’s General Manager explained. “I’ve spoken with Coach Soehn and we both agree it is best to keep playing our bench guys and using formations we haven’t practiced when on the road so we can continue to lose but retain these important sponsorships.”
Game Rating:
0 out of 5 slow center backs

Don’t forget putting a couple of Argentinians out there on turf so they can wonder what the hell they got themselves into.
Check out my site for my theory on what happened.
Ouch. Ouch ouch ouch.

Please do more of these. The league and the fans need this kind of irreverance more than another Beckham.
I laughed…though I’m an RSL fan so I’m pretty biased.
I am a long-time DC United fan, and, as painful as it is, I have to admit that’s pretty funny! Congrats to RSL fans on pummeling United 2 years in a row. Ugh.
