DCU 2006 vs DCU 1997

We’re getting the band back together!

The 2006 version of DC United played the 1997 version of DC United on what appeared to be a field of some sort in New Jersey. The ghost of Christmas past haunted 2006 DCU all night. Bruce, ABMOD, and John Harkes roamed the sidelines. Dema Kovalenko was there too! Once Mark Lisi is healthy . . . and they acquire Etcheverry, the prophecy will be fulfilled!

Whoa! Thanks for slapping me Gertrude! I’m back.

As Lefty – intreprid girl reporter – noted, it was like playing your dad. I mean you can’t show him up! So, United (2006) did the polite thing and grinded out a draw.

Best Shep Messing Moment: It was good to hear The Shep again. He provided so many great World Cup moments.

“The league is soooo even, in terms of parity.”

Germans? Forget it, he’s rolling.

Rating: 1 (out of 5) Jimmy Hoffas. Minus four points for no goals, the artificial turf, Bruce not performing the mid-game coach’s interview, and the sad fact that Marvell Wynne couldn’t cross a T!

MLS Rap

RSL played tonight . . . so there must have been a PK. Yep! 23 minute. So aPK has been awarded in four of the last five games RSL has, um, played?. Remember, when Peter Nowak had words with Atiba Harris? Well, looks like ESPN isn’t fond of him either, “Atiba Harris is easily the most reckless tackler in MLS.”

In a game, mercifully, not on TV. The Fire pounded the Wiz. Three World Cup players, but only two wins in thirteen games — that’s our Wiz!
