Fire . . .

Soehn?

The Chicago Fire dominated D.C. United at RFK tonight with a 2 - 0 win. Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored a wonderful goal in the second half that that made heads on United drop and sealed the Fire’s win.

United is not a good team right now. I’m willing to watch them lose if they pay well, but this team is playing poor soccer and I’m placing the blame squarely on Tom Soehn. United needs a Spanish-speaking coach and someone that can create a system that fits the players on United’s squad.

Random thoughts:

  • Did Volkswagen grease the field? ‘Cause peeps were slipping all over the place.
  • Does Marc Burch have one of those dog collars that gives a shock if he goes inside the 18-year box? Dude. Get forward and stop pausing for a second before crossing the ball.
  • Why does United’s attack look like this?
  • At least it didn’t rain!

And finally . . .

Comment:

Frank Rijkaard is probably out of Barca this summer, fork up the money for him instead of a pay increase for Emilio and lets see if he can turn this season around.
