Tricky Hats!

D.C. United humiliated NY Red Bulls 4-1 tonight in front of a soggy but raucous crowd at RFK Stadium. Luciano Emilio’s put in three goals with Clyde Simms blasting a laser-shot goal as well.

Even though the rivalry with Chicago is better, I still love to watch D.C. United beat NY/NJ whatever-they-are-calling-themselves-now. Just LOVE it!

The Only Place You Can Smoke in DC!

The “Loud Side” was in wonderful form tonight. Songs, flags, smoke bombs . . . just perfect.

What the?

Here are two things that do not belong together: MLS All-Star and Zack Wells.

The caption notes “MLSNet.com Staff”, so I don’t think we can mock D.C. United for this wishful thinking. But, if Zack Wells is on the 2008 MLS All-Star Team we will get his face tattooed on our chests.

Hat Trick Night in MLS!

Emilio scored three (including a classic poacher’s goal off a deflected shot) in D.C., while Edson Buddle was whooping on San Jose in California. Sadly, no hats were thrown on the field.

Dear Red Bull Fans,

Love your spirit and thanks for coming to the game. But, next time you may want to bring more fans than banners. Seriously. We know you need to pad your puny numbers, but the banners aren’t that impressive.

We do want to compliment you on the banner mocking Ben Olsen’s injury. Well done. But, we can’t help but smirk at the fact that one of your designated players, Claudio Reyna, has played a grand total of 29 games in two years. Nice value!

Sincerely,

The Far Post
