Day 10 - One is the loneliest number

Michael Ballack put Germany through to the quarterfinals by busting out the long lost Herr Krupp Gun on Austria. His set piece upper-90 goal will be remembered for a long time. (Or maybe only until Thursday when they lose to Portugal.)

Croatia continued to convince us it will surprise some teams in the knockout round. I can see the Checkers beating Portugal in the semis and meeting Netherlands in the final. (But I wear glasses, so my vision isn’t reliable.)

Best Game

Woods – Mediate. 19 holes! That’s not golf, it’s swiss cheese! Here is a scary thought if you’re pro golfer these days: Tiger at 80% is better than everyone else.

For the second day in a row, Woods drains a put on 18 to force extra play. On the 91st hole midnight stuck for Rocco and this game turned back into a pumpkin. It’s too bad, too; Mediate is good for the game.

The Final Whistle

Boom goes the dynamite!

I guess sometimes quality over quantity is fine. (Unless it is ice cream or sex.)

Rating for the Day

3 out of 5 Johann Strauss the Youngers. 1 goal a game = Soocer Waltz.
